Switch your gaze from seascape to landscape while vacationing on 30A. For a change of pace and a little exercise consider wandering through over 200 miles of hiking and biking trails throughout Walton County. We’ve given you the lay of the land to bike or hike through some of Florida’s most beautiful state forests and state parks.

Deer Lake State Park

Nestled along side a rare coastal dune lake, visitors will experience many splashes of color from the summer wildflowers, many species of birds and butterflies. Take a picnic across the dunes with easy access to the beach. Deer Lake Trail is located on the north side of Scenic Highway 30A across from the park entrance.

Grayton Beach State Park

Grayton Beach State Park boasts pristine landscapes, camping, self-guided nature trails and picnic areas. Take a canoe, paddle board or kayak out for a paddle. With over four miles of trails, take your bike for a ride or just enjoy the hike. The Flatwoods Trail and the Western Lake Loop are located on the north side of Scenic Highway 30A near the main park entrance.

Topsail Hill State Park

Identified as the most pristine piece of coastal property in Florida, this undeveloped area features 1,600 acres of stunning bald cypress swamps, nature trails over mountainous sand dunes and two coastal dune lakes. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is known for its freshwater fishing, 25-foot-high sand dunes and 14 unique plant communities. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is located in Santa Rosa Beach, 10 miles east of Destin, FL.
